sunday afternoon….
The weekend sure has gone by fast ! Friday was a high stress day at work; was trying to get some stuff done but was deluged with special requests and such. Best Buy called me on Friday to get my replacement computer. I went to get it but noted that they were giving me my 2 gig memory in a bag, not the computer. I told them that was in the old computer when I bought it so they ought to install it as part of the warranty replacement. The Geek Squad guy had to consult a manager, but the manager agreed with my reasoning and they installed that for me. I picked the computer up on Saturday and then Sweetous and I had dinner with Steve and LB. Right now I am listening to music on the new computer and fixing all my bookmarks etc. I may install some software today, but perhaps not ’cause I have a head cold and may goto bed early.

ReactOS is the most complete working model of a Windows® like operating system available. Consequently, working programmers will learn a great deal by studying ReactOS source code and even participating in ReactOS development.

wednesday morning…
I went for a walk this morning before work and rode my bike with Sweetous both yesterday and the day before ! My Lenovo notebook is in the shop for repairs and now the old Toshiba is not working either ! BALLS ! One good thing about that though is I have been reading more. I finished a book last night: At Hell’s Gate which is the personal story of an American Soldier in Viet Nam who is now a Zen monk working for the cause of peace. The author tells about his own suffering and how he is dealing with it through the practice of mindfulness; an interesting and moving book, I recommend it.

I went to Barnes and Noble this afternoon and found this book while lurking amongst the books. I started reading it and then bought it.
a partially finished essay…
I started writing an essay about some fine points of the law and other assorted bullshit. I went ahead and published it ’cause I was getting tired of sitting here at the PC and I feel the primal urge to go out somewhere to lurk and prowl. The essay is partially “tongue in cheek” but simultaneously serious, and I have included some links for your web surfing enjoyment. So go read my essay and feel free to comment. (but don’t give me any junk comments ’cause I’ll just delete them)
notes for sunday morning…
I slept late today, then went and helped Sweetous at the farm. She is watching Parish’s farm this weekend, but it’s not Parish anymore ’cause the place has new owners. Anyway, it’s much easier than it was before ’cause they have fewer animals.
I was in the mall yesterday lurking and prowling and I saw this really cool little animal at the pet store. I had never seen one before, very odd little critters, so I did a google search to see what they are: sugar gliders. Cute little animals, but not for everyone.
