Honoring the Dalai Lama

Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I was listening to a talk show yesterday on the way home. The host ( a conservative Christian) was very unhappy that the Dalai Lama was getting the Congressional Gold Medal. He didn’t think that the United States Congress should honor him because (according to this talk show host) the Buddhists regard him as a god. He was also concerned that we would annoy the Chinese government by giving him the medal. (more…)

some notes for wednesday morning…

I stayed a little bit late at work yesterday and got a lot done. Now I only have two items on my list.  Very good, but no doubt there will be another big pile shortly. I spent lots of money last week on car repairs: the truck, the Vibe, and then Pig had a flat on the way back to her place on Sunday, so a couple new tires to top it off ! Cars are such a pain in the ass. I’ve been a slacker as far as my walking goes; I need to get back into it. There always seems to be something to get in the way, but then in hindsight really wasn’t anything; got to make my walk a priority !
