This afternoon I decided to check my Verizon bill. Earlier this month I had paid them $600.00 so I figured the bill now would be rather small. It wasn’t, according to the web-site I owed $1,000.00 ! BALLS and HELL ! I called Sweetous and she told me to go raise a stink at the Verizon store. She told me she would have LB meet me there because she is better able to understand the arcane details of phone plans. I figured she would also be good back up because she is quite skillful at displays of wrathful fury. For her part, LB was hoping to coax me into buying her a new phone…

I’m not really very interested in politics. I am very interested in right and wrong; I find the endless posturing and scheming of politics to be a vexation to my soul ! I don’t really fit with the Democrats or the Republicans. Not with the Democrats because I am totally opposed to abortion, I favor a strong military, and I am not real thrilled with the idea of gay “marriage”; nor with the Republicans because I favor strict regulation of business (especially large corporations) and I am also in favor of government health care, aid to education, and in general an active role for government in society.
I despair for our country though ! I know people are not happy with President Bush, so there is a very strong possibility that either Obama or Hillary will be elected. If either of these sorry excuses are elected we are in very deep shit ! May God have mercy on our sorry asses !

When my kids were growing up sometimes when they vexed me I would tell them to “go sit somewhere that I can’t see you or hear you”. Being a good bit older and hopefully somewhat wiser now; I will concede that I really ought not to have spoken to my kids that way. But when considering the “Rev.” Jeremiah Wright I would say that “go sit somewhere that I (and anyone else) can’t see you or hear you” is entirely appropriate. This man is bigoted, hateful, a buffoon, an ignorant fool, and last (but not least) a heretic. He should go into seclusion until he is ready to repent and rehabilitate himself !

I do not know who wrote this. The Obama and Hillary stuff has pretty much been around (and most of it, well deserved), But the McCain dissertation is incredible ! I don’t know who wrote it, but it is a classic! The following puts it all in perspective although it is a little rough.
After long and serious thought, I have decided to endorse Senator John McCain for President. ?I have always voted for the person and have not voted for anyone because some political party was telling me who I should vote for. ..

I saw one of these at Best Buy today; it had XP instead of Linux. It was quite a cute little gadget; I was especially impressed that it had a non-glossy screen ! That’s a pet peeve of mine, I utterly cannot stand glossy screens ! Of course 512 MB is not a lot of memory but for the price it is nice ! It had 3 (or 4 ?) USB ports, an ethernet port and or course wireless. I was tempted to buy one to keep around as a spare, but though better of it. What I want for my next computer is a MacBook Pro - with a non glossy screen of course !
