I was listening to NPR in the car…
I was listening to NPR in the car; a program about Mississippi in the 1950′s and their intense resistance to racial integration. The recordings of people ranting against government intrusion, state’s rights, and the repeated use of the “N” word was absolutely unnerving. I could feel the intense hatefulness. What’s really scary though is that the 1950′s ranting in Mississippi sounds a lot like the Tea Party today….
